Natalie Abts is the Head of Human Factors Engineering at Genentech, where she manages a team of engineers that conducts human factors activities across Genentech's combination product and medical device portfolio. Before joining Genentech, Natalie worked in human factors research and consulting, both executing human factors work for medical product manufacturers and contributing to in-hospital safety improvements. She has wide-ranging experience in usability methods and regulatory expectations for various device types. Natalie received a bachelor’s degree in art and a master’s degree in industrial engineering with a focus on human factors and ergonomics from the University of Wisconsin, where she was mentored by Dr. Bentzi Karsh.
