April a PhD student at the University of Waterloo in the Cognitive Psychology program. She conducts research in the Cognitional and Natural Behaviour (CaNB) Laboratory. April's research has focused on cognitive offloading and she is interested in further exploring human-robot interaction. With the Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplement, she completed a semester at the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign in the Human Factors and Aging (HFA) Laboratory, where she contributed to research on how domestic robots could support older adults and their caregivers to enhance quality of life.
