Kathryn Rieger
Biography
Kathryn is a recognized design partner who has worked in product development for over twenty-five years in researcher, designer, tester, manager and strategist roles for large scale manufacturers including St. Jude Medical (now Abbott) and Johnson & Johnson, small dynamic startups, like Tandem Diabetes, and several consulting firms, including her own. Currently, she is global head of Human Factors at Intuitive, where she has been helping lead the evolution of the team and human factors science in surgical robotics for 10+ years.
When not helping to build fantastic user interfaces or develop UX thinking, Kathryn is an Adjunct Professor at Drexel University, where she teaches Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction and Cognitive Engineering to budding biomedical engineers and product designers. Kathryn has a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California, an MS in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University, and a BS in Human Factors Engineering from Tufts University.
