Biography
Dr. Marc Gacy is a Senior Consultant at TiER1 with over 20 years of experience in the areas of game-based training, human factors, human performance modeling and operational user interface design. At TiER1, he has developed physics models and built entity constructors for the U.S. Navy. Prior to TiER1, Dr. Gacy worked on unmanned system control user interfaces for the U.S. Army and was the lead designer on a web-based ground system for satellite control and imagery generation for DigitalGlobe/Maxar. In the course of these projects, Dr. Gacy has conducted requirements analysis, built interaction diagrams, and constructed wireframes for user interface development.
In the area of human performance modeling, Dr. Gacy has built a variety of models including: a single operator using a robotic arm for NASA, a 24/7 satellite operations facility for DigitalGlobe/Maxar, a nursing staff workload/task reallocation, and a large-scale multi-organization consequence management crisis situation involving the National Guard and first responders. He has conducted numerous task analyses, user surveys, user juries and acted as user advocate for both the human performance modeling and user interface development.
Dr. Gacy graduated with a BS in Physics from Carnegie-Mellon University and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the Mayo Graduate School in Rochester, Minnesota.
