Biography
Timothy M. Hale (Ph.D., medical sociology, University of Alabama at Birmingham) teaches in the MS in Health Technology program at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana (UIUC). Prior to joining UIUC, Dr. Hale was engaged in applied digital health research at Partners Healthcare Pivot Labs (formerly the Center for Connected Health), in Boston, Massachusetts. His research focuses on digital inequalities, emerging digital health lifestyles, and the social and health impacts of new health technology. Dr. Hale has over 20 peer-reviewed publications in the field of health technology, as well as chapters in edited volumes and reports. His research has been funded by National Institutes of Health as well as sponsored by industry and non-profit organizations.
