Kevin O'Reilly
Biography
Kevin is a retired high school Vice-principal and person with lived/living experience in mental health. As a caregiver, advocate and presenter, Kevin has shared his personal journey through depression, anxiety and panic attacks with thousands of people across the province. His focus is to engage people and “normalize” the conversation around mental health and he strives to stop the stigma around seeking help. Kevin challenges misconceptions and misunderstandings about what mental illness is and what it is not and considers himself a mental illness disruptor. Kevin is trained in Mental Health First Aid and SafeTalk (Suicide and self harm training) and serves as a patient advisor to the AHRQ funded Patient Partnered Diagnostic Center of Excellence.
