Carla Girolametto is the Integrated Director of Innovation and Research at Grand River Hospital and St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario. She joined Grand River Hospital in 2003 and is responsible for advancing all innovation and research activities. Carla serves as a key link to strengthen Grand River Hospital’s research and innovation agenda in the context of Waterloo Region’s rich academic and health-tech ecosystem, which includes strong partnership with the University of Waterloo and a variety of accelerators and incubators. Carla’s primary research interests include Human Factors in the exploration and adoption of AI and other innovative solutions. Carla is a Clinical Research Professional and holds a Master of Arts from the University of Venice, Italy and a Master of Science with a specialty in Clinical Research Administration from the George Washington University in the United States
