Nicole Chen is a Staff Human Factors Engineer at Stryker, where she is part of the Digital Robotics and Enabling Technologies division. In her role, she partners closely with both end users and design teams to ensure that complex medical devices are not only safe and effective but also intuitive and enjoyable to use. Nicole has experience working on both software and hardware components of the Mako Robotic Platform and its associated indications. Prior to joining Stryker, she contributed to the development of medical devices across the renal care and medication delivery sectors. Nicole is especially passionate about advocating for the value of Human Factors Engineering and enjoys providing Human Factors training, education, and mentorship to others. She holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with a Minor in Business from the University of Michigan and an M.S. in Human Factors Psychology from the University of Idaho.
