Molly Laird
Biography
Molly Laird is a Human Factors Engineer at HS Design with the responsibility of applying human factors during the design and development of medical devices. She was awarded a Clare Boothe Luce fellowship and earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Detroit Mercy. Her thesis consisted of research on evaluating locations at highest risk for pressure injury in pediatric patients and assessing material properties of pressure redistribution surfaces. During her graduate education, she taught classes on CAD and product design as an adjunct professor at the University of Detroit Mercy. She has authored several peer reviewed articles on pressure distribution for the prevention of pressure ulcers.
