Mr. Shim earned his B.S. in Integrative Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As a full-time research staff member in the Aging and NeuroCognition Lab, he actively contributes to projects designed to understand and help older adults age in place. His dedication to meaningful support is evident through his range of experiences, including developing ESL curricula, volunteering at soup kitchens, playing music for hospice, and more. These roles underscore his commitment to community service and his capacity to empathize with diverse groups, enriching his research perspective through an intersectional lens.
