Dana Platt

Biography
Dana is currently the Senior Director of Patient Safety, Risk Management, Infection Control & Patient Family Relations. She previously has worked as Director Risk Management, Education & Training with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) since March 2020. In her role, she coordinates all aspects of the DFCI risk management and patient safety programs to promote the highest level of quality care and continuous improvement. She is responsible for collaboration and evaluation of infection control programs across DFCI, as well as for patient and family relations activities. She develops and collaborates institute-wide initiatives to promote system improvements and enhance safety culture. She facilitates multi-disciplinary projects to improve safety outcomes and enhance a learning environment.
Prior to her role with DFCI, Dana worked as Executive Director Risk Management and Patient Safety for a 4-hospital healthcare system in California and provided oversight for risk management and patient safety activities system-wide. Dana holds a BSN from Boston College and a MSHCA from California State Long Beach.
Dana also held a position as adjunct professor with California State Long Beach prior to her move back to Massachusetts. She holds a certification in healthcare risk management for 15 years and has 20 years’ experience in safety and risk mitigation.
