Jake is a Human Factors Engineer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where his work focuses on improving patient and staff safety, user experiences, and workflow. Jake began his career as a Human Factors Fellow at Rice 360 Institute for Global Health Technologies, designing and conducting usability studies of NICU devices in sub-Saharan Africa, which led to improvements in medical device design for low-resource settings. He later discovered the embedded hospital aspect of Human Factors as part of the Human Factors team at Carilion Clinic in Virginia. Jake holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Rice University and a Master's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech.
