Jordan Hilgers holds over 8 years of experience within the field of human factors in healthcare. She has worked within consulting, academia, hospital settings, and the medical device industry. Her career has focused on improving patient care and user experience in surgery; she has spent 100+ hours in operating rooms collecting data to drive process and product improvements. Jordan’s work has been featured by various media outlets (e.g., the AHRQ and the Joint Commission) and spans topics such as teamwork, communication, patient safety investigations, cognitive biases, ergonomics and anthropology, and medical device development processes. Jordan holds a BS, MS, and PhD in human factors from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
