Biography
Dr. Ray is a Human Factors Engineer at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She began her career with Yale-New Haven Health where she developed simulation-based human factors lines of service including facilitating interprofessional groups, consulting on process improvement efforts across a variety of clinical settings, and applying simulation-based user centered design to physical environment and work design. From 2018-2025 she held academic appointments first in Yale School of Medicine’s Department of Emergency Medicine (2018-2022) where she supported a variety of simulation educational programs and research in the areas of clinician stress, decision-support, and teams and later at the University of Florida (2022-2025) where her work focused clinical decision support and improving patient-clinician interaction through informatics and technology-based interventions. She has recently returned to a hospital based setting in the Office of Quality and Safety at St Jude Children's Research Hospital where she looks forward to continuing to advance HFE methods to support care that is safe for both patients and staff.
