Alesya Moshchenskaya is a Master’s student in Industrial Design at Carleton University, specializing in the accessibility of spaces and systems for older adults. Her research employs a community-based design approach to explore the considerations necessary to design outdoor spaces in long-term care homes. Alesya has also engaged in several projects centered around knowledge mobilization within long-term care and the design of effective air travel systems for older adults. Prior to her Master’s program, Alesya earned her Bachelor of Industrial Design at Carleton University, where she developed a strong foundation in human-centered design, prototyping, and design research methods. She is passionate about interdisciplinary approaches and hopes to leverage design to address systemic barriers in service delivery for diverse populations.
