Biography
As Director of Human Centered Innovation at Fresenius Medical Care, Eric is focused on front-end innovation strategy, user requirements, and concept development for future products. Before his current innovation role, he led the Fresenius Medical Care US human factors engineering team for the global R&D home therapies organization supporting product design and development of hardware, software, and disposables. Before coming to Fresenius, Eric was a Director of Human Factors at Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Solutions (LifeScan, Animas, and Calibra) and additionally consulted across J&J companies on products ranging from consumer drug delivery devices to hospital lab instruments.

Eric has co-developed and taught courses on human factors engineering in medical device design and has presented at a wide variety of professional conferences. He represents Fresenius Medical Care as a member of the AAMI Human Factors Engineering subcommittee and previously represented J&J on the same committee. He is inventor/co-inventor on over a dozen patents and edited the book, "Information Appliances & Beyond" (2000). Eric holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Emory University and a B.A. in Cognitive Science from the University of Rochester.
